Cardio for Quick Weight Loss?
The benefits of long-duration cardio are short-term on the number of calories you are burning. This is not a bad thing. It is alright.
Long duration cardio: let’s say that you go for an hour run. Depending on your pace, you may burn upwards of 1000 calories and that is great if you want to create a caloric deficit. That is what you need to do; you need to burn a lot of calories. For people who are heavier, long-duration cardio can be a great stepping stone or a starting point on their way to quick weight loss. The longer you perform a cardio exercise, the more calories you are going to burn.
Long-duration cardio is great for immediate effects. The only thing is that there is really no benefit after the cardio performance is over. The next day there is really no continual effect of caloric burning. If you look at it from an investment perspective, there are better investments for your calorie-burning buck. We need to look at the long-term solutions. This is where high-intensity interval training comes in.
