Birthing at Home – Items to Have on Hand Before Your Home Birth
Before your delivery date and the planned home birth it is important to have few items on hands. Blue pads, also known as chucks, white towels and washcloths (white so fluid color can be distinguished), iodine, and a vinyl mattress pad to protect your mattress are a few essential items you need for a planned home birth. It may be good to stock up on absorbent female napkins and invest in either a birthing ball or birthing pool. Your home birth doula or midwife should be able to recommend products she feels will assist you.
